CRICKET: Young Durham seamer Luke Evans is out of the Riversiders' pre-season tour to South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa.  after he broke a finger in training yesterday.

The 20-year-old, 6ft 7in strike bowler, who has played one First Class match for Durham, will stay in the North East when the squad jets out on Friday.

"Luke has broken a finger, and it's quite a bad break," said Durham coach Geoff Cook Geoffrey Cook (born October 9, 1951, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire) is a former English cricketer who played in 7 Tests and 6 ODIs from 1981 to 1983.

"He'll probably be out for four or five weeks and will miss the build-up to the season, but the rest of the tour party will travel to South Africa as expected."
