Cricket: Presentation marks hotel's long support.


Whiteley made a special presentation to Paul Pierce Paul Pierce (born October 13, 1977 in Oakland, California) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the NBA. He has been a starter every season since he was selected by the Celtics in the 1998 NBA Draft, and in 2002 he helped lead Boston to an , manager of Huddersfield Hotel's 41 Kirkgate restaurant, in recognition of the hotel allowing their facilities to be made available as the league's headquarters.

But Pierce was unable to attend because of work commitments on the same evening.

"Paul has been responsible for arranging complimentary room hire for 20 years, which has been an invaluable contribution to the league," explained Whiteley.
