LEADERS Skelmersdale take on second-placed Alder alder (ôl`dər), name for deciduous trees and shrubs of the genus Alnus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), widely distributed, especially in mountainous and moist areas of the north temperate zone and in the Andes.  in the Bromborough Paints Merseyside and Southport Alliance match of the day at Firswood Park.

Just five points separate the two as the title race remains wide open. Norley Hall are in third, a further eleven points back, followed closely by Rainford.

Skelmersdale have been consistent all season with overseas man Hemil Watekar proving influential. But Alder have shown they can live with the best and if Mohammed Musroor maintains his contribution today's outcome could be close.

Merseyside Competition leaders Tranmere Vics look to have a winning opportunity at home to Singlehurst while in the Cheshire League mid-table Runcorn seek another Division One success against visiting Oakmere.

The Merseyside Competition take on the Cheshire League at Rainford tomorrowin a delayed Cedric Rhoades Cup clash. Phil Armstrong from Skelmersdale leads the Competition.

The winners will have a home tie against the Derbyshire and Cheshire League next Sunday.
