Cricket: Last ball win keeps Attleborough on top.

LEAGUE leaders Attleborough retained their 100 per cent record in the Nuneaton Millennium Under-15s Cricket League thanks to a last ball win over luckless Haunchwood.

But the Marston Lane youngsters have three clubs right on their heels in Bedworth, Bulkington and Nuneaton/Griff as the sun finally shone on a Monday night.

The Nuneaton villagers certainly had to endure a nail-biting finale as Haunchwood sounded a warning to their rivals with a gritty grit·ty

performance in which Carl Copson set the tone, hammering an unbeaten 41 out of their 86-2.

In reply, Attleborough had to produce all their battling qualities to achieve their target with defiant de·fi·ant

Bulkington edged out Ansley by seven runs in a competitive encounter with A Sastri (45) top scoring for the former in a total of 103-6 while leg-spinner Robert Milligan Robert Milligan (1746 - 21 May 1809) was a prominent English merchant and ship-owner, and was the driving force behind the construction of the West India Docks in London.  took 4-20.

Ansley opener Liam White cracked 48 in reply but despite his efforts the innings ended on 96-4 and a narrow defeat.

Newcomers Fillongley were second best to last season's champions Bedworth, who bowled out their rivals for just 18 in an 84-run success while Newdigate finally made their bow but to no avail as visitors Ambleside recorded their first win.

A fine 40 by G Rumble was the highlight of the Higham Laners' 103-3 and that proved well beyond their hosts, who were bowled out for just 30.

Grayson was once again the Atherstone batting star as he made 36 from their 64 all out against Nuneaton/Griff, for whom Tim Gudger was in slick form with a 5-16 spell. In reply the visitors coasted to 65-0 and an easy success.
