Cricket: KP is eager for win.

KEVIN PIETERSEN This article is included in the list of featured articles.

Kevin Peter Pietersen MBE (born 27 June 1980 in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa) is an English cricketer.
has labelled England's Test series defeat by West Indies West Indies, archipelago, between North and South America, curving c.2,500 mi (4,020 km) from Florida to the coast of Venezuela and separating the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico from the Atlantic Ocean.  "horrendous" - but is determined to make amends for a dismal winter in the forthcoming one-day series.

Pietersen and the rest of the England squad were disappointed to lose the Test series 1-0, having arrived in the Caribbean as favourites.

England are still seeking their first victory in an international match this winter - hardly the best preparation as they buildup to this summer's Ashes.

But Pietersen believes the attacking cricket England played in the tense draw in the final Test at Queen's Park Oval Queen's Park Oval, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, is the largest cricket ground in the West Indies and has hosted more Test matches than any other ground in the Caribbean. It hosted a number of matches in the 2007 Cricket World Cup.  will help to end that miserable sequence of results as they attempt to take something tangible from the final month of their tour.

"It's very, very disappointing for the simple fact that we have not won a single game this winter and we still don't seem to be doing enough to win," admitted Pietersen.

"To lose the series is horrendous. We lost the Stanford game, we lost the India Tests, we lost the India one-dayers, now we've lost the Tests here and it is horrible.

"I hate losing, and to lose a series against the West Indies when I think we're a better side or at least should be a better side - it's not good enough really.

"A couple of hours of silliness in Jamaica cost us. If we'd have got away with a draw or a win then we could have really turned this series on its head. It has not been a good couple of months."

England will attempt to bounce back on Sunday, when they play a Twenty20 International before the start of a five-match one-day series.

If they really are to gain some momentum before this summer's Ashes series This is a list of Ashes cricket series played between Australia and England. Most Ashes series have consisted of five Test matches between the two countries. The Ashes series with the fewest Test matches was the 1887-88 Ashes series, consisting of only one Test. , the time is right to start now.

Pietersen admitted: "I think we're going to have to go out there with an aggressive approach because we haven't won a game this whole winter.

"We've got to go out there swinging and playing some good positive cricket.

"We're going to have to do something because I'm not sure I want to be here another month if we don't win a game."
