ANDY CADDICK crowned another incredible England Test triumph by taking FOUR West Indian wickets in one over at Headingley yesterday.

Turbo-charged Caddick took 5-14 as the Windies were skittled for just 61 and England romped home by an innings and 39 runs for their first Test victory inside two days since 1912. And Caddick, who blitzed Brian Lara and company at Lord's seven weeks ago, said: "I won't forget that over for a very long time.

"Everything about the way we set about winning this game reminded me of Lord's - and the crowd were superb here, too." After Darren Gough had ripped out the Windies' top four with a magical new-ball spell in front of his home Yorkshire crowd, Caddick went on the warpath to put England two-one up in this Cornhill series.

He became the first England bowler to take four wickets in an over since Chris Old hit Pakistan at Edgbaston in 1978.

As Caddick's 10th over unfolded, he left a trail of carnage in which: Ridley Jacobs was pinned lbw from the first ball to leave the Windies a sorry 52-6.

Nixon McLean lost his off stump to another fast inswinger two balls later - 52-7.

Curtly Ambrose was clean bowled next ball - 52-8.

Reon King survived the hat-trick ball and a no-ball, only for Caddick to trump him from the last delivery. After that, England's progress to a 2-1 lead with the final Test at the Oval to come in 12 days was a formality and Caddick completed his purple patch of 5-5 in 15 balls by dismissing Courtney Walsh. The wonderful mayhem even blew skipper Nasser Hussain's mind and he admitted: "It's been an incredible two days. "I thought the pitch was poor, especially on the first day, but the reason we've bowled them out for 61 and we're having three days off is because of some high-quality swing bowling. The great thing about Darren Gough is that he gets good players out - key players like Brian Lara - and that's why he's such an asset with the new ball.

"And Caddick's over was exceptional. He swung it beautifully - late, on a good length and a perfect line.

"During the first innings I had been looking to switch him to the Football Stand end but the opportunity never arose because it would have been cruel to take off Craig White when he was bowling so well and taking five wickets.

"I have to be honest and admit that it has barely registered that we have won a Test inside two days. We seem to have packed an awful lot of cricket into those two days that it feels more like our normal Saturday night finish!"

Hussain also paid tribute to man-of-the-match Michael Vaughan, who made his highest Test score, 76, on his home ground, and Graeme Hick, who made a priceless 59 on his 10th England comeback. He added: "That partnership set the tone for us."

Vaughan said: "It was fantastic that all three of the Yorkshire lads in the side were able to make such important contributions.

"Goughie bowled superbly and I nipped in with a few runs - although I was a shade disappointed because I would like to reach three figures for England one day."
