Cricket: Blain's won his Desh for fitness.


JOHN BLAIN John Angus Rae Blain (born January 4, 1979 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler.

Attaining his first cap in 1996, Blain became Scotland's youngest-capped cricketer since 1890.
 will jet to Bangladesh with Scotland later this month after winning his fitness battle.

But Dewald Nel has failed to recover from a back problem and is set to miss the 10-day cricket trip.

Both were hurt at the ICC's High Performance Academy in South Africa last month.

Uncapped Giles Holmes and Glenn Rogers were put on Scotland's reserve list.
