Cricket: Bablake are stung by Adams; BIRMINGHAM LEAGUE DIVISION THREE.

OLTON & West Warwicks obtained an outstanding eight-wicket win over Coventry club Bablake.

Bablake were brushed aside for just 28 runs as they had no answer to the bowling of South African Roy Adams, who took four for five, while Sunil Vyakaranam claimed four for six.

Olton easily knocked off the required runs in a match that lasted just 34.5 overs.

Studley suffered a five-wicket reverse at second-placed Kington.

Omaad Nazir struck 71 as Studley reached 159 all out.

Nazir also picked up three wickets but couldn't prevent Kington reaching a winning 160 for five in just 31.4 overs, David Powell carrying his bat for 79.

Coleshill crashed to a two-wicket defeat against Lichfield in another low-scoring affair.

Lichfield reached a winning 131 for eight after Coleshill had posted 127.

Fordhouses remain at the bottom after a five-wicket beating at Bridgnorth.

The result was rough on Adnan Raees, who reeled off a century for the Wolverhampton side in their 220 for nine.

Bridgnorth battled back to post 221 for four with four balls remaining after Peter Thompson reached 79 not out.

Chris Boroughs continued his fine form with the ball as Brockhampton beat Wombourne by 89 runs.

Brockhampton had reached 189 for nine, Minor Counties player Henry Langford hitting 58.

But Wombourne were reduced to 94 all out as Boroughs bagged a matchwinning eight for 36.
