Crews called to kitchen fire; INBRIEF.

A PAN sparked a kitchen fire in a village near Stockton.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on Drover's Lane, Redmarshall, at about 10.15am on Tuesday. On arrival they found parts of the kitchen alight, including wooden units and an extractor fan. One man, in his 60s, was given oxygen at the scene before being taken to hospital as a precaution. The flames resulted in fire damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the home. Stockton fire station watch manager Mick Pennick said: "It was oil and fat in a pan on the oven which set fire to the kitchen. It took us around 30 minutes to deal with the whole incident."
