Crews break ground on second LIC Rockrose building.

 A. Gargano joined local officials and business leaders last week at a groundbreaking event for a residential building to be constructed in Long Island City. The building, being developed by Rockrose, is scheduled to open in late 2007 and will be 290 feet tall with 394 rental apartments and 825 parking spaces.

It will also feature a supermarket to serve residents of Queens West and the greater community. "Today's groundbreaking is another important step forward in the redevelopment of the Queens West waterfront," Gargano said. "As construction continues, the vision for Queens West takes shape.
