Crew await ship's hero; PIRATES.


A REUNION of a captain with 19 crew he saved by offering himself as hostage has been delayed - after his ship went to halt more pirate attacks.

Capt Richard Phillips was set to meet them in Mombasa after being rescued off the Kenyan coast on Sunday.

But pirates tried to hijack a US ship carrying aid for Africa with grenades and the USS Bainbridge Five ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Bainbridge, after William Bainbridge, a notable commodore of the early Navy.
  • The first: Bainbridge, a 12-gun brig commissioned in 1842 and lost off Cape Hatteras in 1863.
