Crew Development Corporation ("Crew") is pleased to announce several senior executive appointments, which have strengthened the corporate structure and will enable Crew to continue to achieve the record growth and outstanding performance of the past three years.

Peter D. Barnes will serve as President of the Company, as well as retaining the position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Barnes is a Chartered Accountant formerly with an international accounting firm in England and Canada, and spent four years in a senior financial role with a multinational public company, before joining Crew in 1996. He has been instrumental in the growth and success of Crew and has been actively involved in the mergers and restructuring of the company.

With Mr. Barnes' appointment, John M. Darch, who will continue in a full time capacity as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will be able to fully focus on corporate strategy and the development of specific areas of the company's interests, including acquisitions.

Mr. Jon Steen Petersen who joined Crew as Vice President, Exploration in December 1999, through the merger with Mindex ASA of Norway, has been appointed as a Director of Crew and adds a wide dimension of skills and experience to the Board.

Mr. Petersen is largely responsible for the portfolio of quality projects that Crew gained in the past year. He was actively involved in the discovery of gold at both Nalunaq in Greenland and Hwini-Butre in Ghana, as well as the early development of the Mindoro HPAL nickel project in the Philippines. He also initiated the reevaluation of the historic Roros copper mining district in Norway for zinc potential.

Mr. Petersen has over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration, including 10 years as an Associate Professor of Economic Geology at the University of Aarhus in Denmark, where he also earned an M.Sc. in geology in 1973. He is a Danish citizen and lives in Oslo, Norway.

Mr. Andreas Qvale, who was originally engaged in October 2000 to assist with the continued development of Crew's profile in the Norwegian and international financial markets, has accepted a full time appointment as Vice President, Corporate Affairs with Crew, with effect from January 1, 2001. Mr. Qvale has over 25 years of experience within the natural resource industry and the Norwegian financial community. During the past 11 years he served as the Assistant Vice President of Information and External Affairs for Saga Petroleum, an international oil company.

It is with regret that Crew announces the resignation of Dr. Gerald D. Wright from the positions of Co-Chairman and Director. Dr. Wright was a co-founder of the company and has served as a director and officer for some 12 years, and has resigned to focus fully on his duties as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Resources Ltd., which is in the final stages of financing and project permitting for the 2 mtpa Somboon potash project in Thailand.

Because of his knowledge and experience, Dr. Wright will continue for the time being to serve as a director of Metorex Limited, Crew's South African operating company. Crew would like to thank Dr. Wright for his long and valuable service to the company.
