Creswell avenges defeat.

JUNCTION CITY Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. That included a press defense for all 32 minutes that confounded the Tigers (10-2, 1-1) and eventually broke them down.

Leading 39-33 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs scored 12 straight points on layups in transition or off turnovers as they built up a 51-40 lead with 3:38 to play.

Nick Finley led the way for Creswell, scoring 20 points. Jim McQuiston added 17 points and Tyler Sears had 13.

Late in the fourth, Junction City pulled it to within 51-43 on a free throw followed by a field goal with 1:57 remaining. But the Bulldogs made 6-of-9 free throws in the final 1:17 while the Tigers scored only one more basket.
