Generally called "OLE controls" or "OLE custom controls," they appear to the end user as just another part of  controls, and written guides designed to aid Visual Basic developers' rapid transition to Visual Basic 4.0-based application development.

Building on the success of the Crescent Division's Jump Start Kit, VB4 Plus Pak facilitates an easier, more effective approach to the Visual Basic 4.0 environment, and developers' use of Object Linking and Embedding See OLE.

"The response to our Jump Start Kit for Visual Basic Version 4.0 has been overwhelming, " said Jennifer Bergantino, director of the Crescent Division of Progress Software. "It's clear that there is a real need for additional tools and information about VB4. And the thousands of developers already using the Jump Start Kit have validated Crescent's position as the experts in Visual Basic 4, client/server development, OCX controls, OLE, and programmer (1) A hardware device used to customize a programmable logic chip such as a PAL, GAL, EPROM, etc. See PROM programmer.
