The company develops a dedicated hardware based appliance which aims to improve web server tiers utilization by offloading them from different tasks e.g. , a global leader in application acceleration, today announced its NxTGen application acceleration architecture, designed to meet the needs of the world's busiest web sites and data centers. "Consolidation, convergence and economies of scale have changed the data center paradigm," noted Adoram Gaash, Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Crescendo Networks. "Customers are demanding consolidation of functions without sacrificing high levels of performance. Crescendo Networks has responded by developing an architecture that will deliver the highest levels of performance, flexibility and adaptability within the application delivery market," continued Gaash.

Traditional application front end (AFE) solutions rely on a central processor-shared resource model to deliver AFE functionality. These solutions struggle to scale, however, when users enable multiple AFE features simultaneously. Crescendo Networks' Maestro AFE (based on a solid state, non-blocking purpose-built design) was designed from inception to deliver multi-gigabit throughput with all features enabled concurrently.

"The increased demand for the webification of applications, chronicled in leading publications and through independent research, is prompting users to call for the next generation of AFEs," said Doron Meirom president of Crescendo Networks Inc. "NxTGen addresses this need. While other companies continue to rely on reworking central processor-based solutions, we have created a custom, purpose-built platform optimized for the data center of today -- and tomorrow. NxTGen, as an architectural vision, and Maestro as its implementation, which can be seen at Booth #746, creates an opportunity for the company to leapfrog the competition and become the leader in the application delivery market," declared Meirom.

hardware architecture. Built from the ground up to handle the most demanding applications, the multi-gigabit platform employs over 60 Application Micro Engines (AMEs), distributed throughout multiple hardware components, to handle all optimization/acceleration tasks. Traditional AFEs have performance limitations when multiple functions are enabled simultaneously since all these functions use the same processing/resource pool.

In contrast, Maestro's purpose-built distributed architecture can perform all tasks concurrently, without any degradation in total performance, allowing it to control application delivery at a scale unattainable by traditional AFE solutions.

About Crescendo Networks

Crescendo Networks is a global leader in application acceleration, delivering multi-gigabit performance and application assurance in its award winning Maestro application front end (AFE) product line. Crescendo's technology accelerates end-to-end application performance and intelligently manages server-side sessions to protect and optimize server and application resources, dramatically improving end user response times. Crescendo's robust and scalable hardware architecture makes it the only AFE that accelerates application content through simultaneous multi-gigabit connections allowing it to deliver connection management, SSL acceleration SSL acceleration is a method of offloading the processor-intensive public key encryption algorithms involved in SSL transactions to a hardware accelerator.
