Crescendo Adds Network Physics to Growing List of Technology Partners; The Two Companies' Solutions Identify, Quantify and Eliminate Causes of Network Latency.

TENAFLY, N.J. -- Crescendo Networks Crescendo Networks is an Israeli company dealing in the Application Front End Acceleration market. The company develops a dedicated hardware based appliance which aims to improve web server tiers utilization by offloading them from different tasks e.g. , the undisputed leader in high performance Application Front End (AFE (Apple File Exchange) An earlier Macintosh utility that converted data files between Mac and PC formats. It also included a file translator between IBM's DCA format and MacWrite. ) products, today announced that it has added Network Physics to its growing list of technology partners. Additional Crescendo technology partners include IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and Oracle. The Company's announcement follows one by Network Physics which recently broadcast the release of its NetSensory Solution Insight, specifically designed to work with and support Crescendo's award-winning Maestro Application Front End.

NetSensory Insights are point-and-click action guides that incorporate best practices extracted from real world customer cases to detect and measure application performance problems. AFEs consolidate processor-intensive tasks (like TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end.  termination and multiplexing, SSL acceleration SSL acceleration is a method of offloading the processor-intensive public key encryption algorithms involved in SSL transactions to a hardware accelerator. Typically, this is a separate card that plugs into a PCI slot in a computer that contains one or more co-processors able to , compression and load balancing The fine tuning of a computer system, network or disk subsystem in order to more evenly distribute the data and/or processing across available resources. For example, in clustering, load balancing might distribute the incoming transactions evenly to all servers, or it might redirect them ), freeing up server resources, and accelerating application content delivery to the end user. Collectively, the two companies' solutions identify, quantify and eliminate causes of network latency.

Network Physics NetSensory Insight for Crescendo's Maestro AFE is available immediately through Network Physics' channel partners. Both Crescendo Networks and Network Physics sell through Value Added Resellers (VARs).

"As a VAR, our role is to help customers design and deploy solutions that best serve their unique business needs," said David Gottesman, President and Founder of Technology Development Research Corporation. "Deploying Crescendo's Maestro AFE with Network Physics' custom NetSensory Insight will allow us to quickly and efficiently find and eliminate latency issues within the network. Furthermore, because the NetSensory Insight is optimized for the Maestro AFE, customers will be able to detect bottlenecks and eliminate them with one product package, seamlessly and intuitively," Gottesman remarked.

The joint product solution that culminated in the custom NetSensory Insight required engineering teams from both companies to capture and analyze real world data from a global customer base. "Independent testing demonstrates that Crescendo offers the best and most powerful AFE solution in the industry," said Adoram Ga'ash, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Crescendo Networks. "Our partnership with Network Physics demonstrates our commitment to continued delivery of new and creative approaches within the application acceleration market. In addition, this solution provides resellers with a valuable tool that enables them to quantify network performance and show customers the immediate benefits and ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot).  provided by an Application Front End," Ga'ash concluded.
