AS local councillors for the town centre, we were very pleased to see the graffiti being removed from the back walls of Red Lion Red Lion may refer to:
  • Red Lion (inn), the second most common name for English pubs
  • Red Lion and Sun Society, the former name of the Red Crescent in Iran
  • Red Lion, Pennsylvania
  • Order of the Red Lion
  • San Beda Red Lions
  • Cougar
  • A robot vehicle from Voltron
 Street in Redcar recently, as reported in the article Alleyway Work Is Clean Winner (News, 20.06.09).

We are very grateful to the probation probation, method by which the punishment of a convicted offender is conditionally suspended. The offender must remain in the community and under the supervision of a probation officer, who is usually a court-appointed official.  service for arranging this.

There is little doubt the area now looks clean, cared for and tidy for the first time in months.

We were, however, very disappointed to see that no credit was given to our community police team who have been involved with us in getting this area cleaned up from the beginning. Surely it would have been more appropriate to include them in the photo rather than include the council's Labour group political assistant?
