Credit munch balti is a spice treat; pub grub.

DINING out and 'tightening your belt' do not usually go together.

But the Balti balti
Noun

a spicy Indian dish served in a metal dish [probably from the Baltistan region of Pakistan]
Towers offers tasty, low fat dishes which are easy on the waistline and low in cost too.

And you can bring your own booze as well.

In fact, you could say it's a credit munch.

My hubby Pete and I couldn't wait to tuck into our starter, a Tandoori tan·door·i
adj.
Cooked in a tandoor.

[Hindi tandri, from tand
mixed grill for just pounds 5.50, when we visited.

There was plenty of food to satisfy both of us. The dish featured chicken shashlik shash·lik or shash·lick
n.
A dish consisting of marinated cubes of lamb or beef grilled or roasted on a spit, often with slices of eggplant, onion, and tomato; shish kebab.
, lamb tikka tikka
Adjective

Indian cookery (of meat) marinated in spices and then dry-roasted: chicken tikka
, lamb chop, seekh kebab and tandoori fish.

The flavours were spicy and hot, making it a perfect start to our meal.

We went for a Desi Lamb next and an Achari Chicken, at pounds 7.85 each..

The lamb was cooked with fresh herbs, spices, peppers, tomatoes, and coriander, and packed a real punch.

Pete said the lamb pieces were chunky and tender.

My Achari Chicken was also cooked with fresh herbs and spices, and had a pureed pickle, and a tinge of yoghurt.

The Achari chicken was a little hotter than the lamb and there was a slightly sourer taste coming from the pickle..

We both ordered a portion of rice (pounds 1.55) to accompany our meals, which were perfectly fluffy.

And we enjoyed tasty a pair of tasty naans (pounds 1.40) which were tastily light, and provided as a great device for scooping up those delicious curry sauces.

Our night out came to around pounds 30, including soft drinks.

Definitely a credit munch winner.
