The process for member credit unions will be straightforward. CUISPA will host a server that includes the Xacta Vulnerability Awareness System. The software allows participating members to register IT asset information on the server, and in turn, the Xacta system will alert them when their systems are susceptible to the SANS Top 20 Internet Security ''This article or section is being rewritten at

Vulnerabilities. It will also alert members through daily emails when their systems are potentially susceptible to newly-emerging vulnerabilities.

"We are very pleased with Xacta's initiative in offering this service to our members," said Kelly Dowell, executive director for CUISPA. "Xacta has worked with credit unions for many years and they understand the value of cooperation. Contributions like this from our affiliate members are instrumental in helping CUISPA realize its mission. Xacta's Vulnerability Awareness System will be a great value for many of our members. It will give them more visibility into their networks and allow them to respond to vulnerabilities in a more timely manner."

Existing and newly-joining members will have access to this service, free for one year. The registration process is simple, and the benefits begin immediately upon registration.

"By providing CUISPA members with access to the Xacta Vulnerability Awareness System, we're letting them have a small taste of the functionality built into Xacta IA Manager(TM)," said Richard Tracy, chief security officer for Telos Corporation. "Many organizations pay for similar intelligence feeds, but CUISPA members won't have to worry about that. They'll receive significant benefit from the service, and we hope it opens a dialog with them to discuss the other 95% of our offering. In addition to threat alerts, we help organizations catalog catalog, descriptive list, on cards or in a book, of the contents of a library.
