Credit Management Seminar to Be Held December 7 in Newton.

NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2000

Effective Credit Management 2000, a seminar for anyone who manages business credit, accounts receivable accounts receivable n. the amounts of money due or owed to a business or professional by customers or clients. Generally, accounts receivable refers to the total amount due and is considered in calculating the value of a business or the business' problems in paying  or collections, will be held Thursday, December 7, 2000 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 399 Grove Street, Newton, Mass.

Taught by nationally recognized experts in credit management, the seminar covers legal compliance, setting credit lines, managing accounts receivable, collection procedures and researching creditworthiness Creditworthiness

The condition in which the risk of default on a debt obligation by that entity is deemed low.

Equal Credit Opportunity Act Now Enforced for Business Credit

The federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act used to apply only to consumer credit, but now the government says it also covers business-to-business credit, DeLorme says. "Under the ECOA ECOA Equal Credit Opportunity Act (US)

, you must have written procedures on extending credit and, if asked, tell a company why it was denied credit," DeLorme says.

Besides the ECOA, the seminar covers all other federal laws that credit granters must comply with or run the risk of civil or even criminal complaints.
