(Nasdaq:SRNA), an industry-leading supplier of eBusiness infrastructure change management solutions, today announced that Credit Lyonnais, the French corporate banking group, has chosen Serena(TM) to provide a comprehensive software change management infrastructure to automate application changes and business processes. Credit Lyonnais implemented Serena ChangeMan(TM) for z/OS and OS/390, the company's premiere software change manager, to improve the effectiveness, time to market, and responsiveness of service delivery to business users and bank customers.

Credit Lyonnais' primary challenge was to achieve consistent and repeatable levels of quality, ensuring numerous and in-depth testing combined with the quick implementation of new software to meet all audit and security criteria. The company also wanted a powerful solution to span all strategic platforms and to support its applications, particularly its new architecture, Pl@net, which runs on IBM mainframes, UNIX and NT servers. Credit Lyonnais chose Serena ChangeMan for z/OS and OS/390 as the best answer to solve the technical challenge of automating all activities needed to deliver and install software changes. The product will provide Credit Lyonnais with the following:

-- Delivery of new business functions & services to end-users based on
periodical releases;

-- Addition of a new pre-production step to the existing development life cycle
to ensure full pre-operational testing in a true production-like environment;

-- Support for all types of mainframe components (languages, batch and
transactional, database), with a single tool;

-- Capability of taking existing development lifecycles into account quickly
and easily.

Credit Lyonnais is rolling out a new client / server technical framework called Pl@net based on a three-tier and thin client architecture. The OS/390 mainframe is a critical component of this new world technology initiative, delivering Enterprise Logic and data management processes in a CICS/COBOL, DB2 parallel Sysplex architecture. The intermediate level consists in Application servers developed using IBM's WebSphere(1). End - users run a thin client using a Netscape browser on OS/2 or NT desktops. As Pl@net becomes the common infrastructure for all new applications in Credit Lyonnais, it will change the way development teams work. Serena ChangeMan for z/OS and OS/390 will be deployed in priority for these new applications.
