Credit Card Forgery Gang Busted.


Summary: DUBAI -- The Dubai Police has arrested a passenger with 127 forged credit cards on him at the Dubai International Airport Dubai International Airport (IATA: DXB, ICAO: OMDB) (Arabic: مطار دبي الدولي) is the international airport serving Dubai, the largest city of the United Arab Emirates. . The Anti-Economic Crimes Department of the Criminal Investigation Department was alerted, on March 28, 2009, that a European passenger would try to transport counterfeited credit cards to a European gang in Dubai through the airport.

The Dubai Police initiated investigations and arrested the second accused who led the police to the third accused. They were both Europeans. Two forged credit cards were found in the possession of the third accused, and the device used in the crime belongs to a fourth accused, arrested later.

"We ascertain that security standards are provided to all the banks and financial institutions operating here. There is no need to worry about such criminals who are under strict and close control.

"The CID teams are fully geared up round the clock to handle such threats," he said.

Director of Anti-Economic Crimes Department Lt. Col. Abdurahman Obaidullah said his department is very responsive to any tip-off with a team of high calibre staff to curb down such criminal activities.
