(CBSM CBSM Community Bank of Santa Maria (California) ) filed the lawsuit against Eastern Pacific Energy/UtiliSource in Superior Court for the State of California, County of Los Angeles. The CBSM is assignee of MICROS Communications, a Marina del Rey, Calif.-based corporate public relations and marketing firm that had a signed agreement to provide professional services to Eastern Pacific Energy/UtiliSource, an Internet-based multi-utility service provider based in Brea, Calif.

The public relations firm is among a number of creditors that Eastern Pacific Energy/UtiliSource has failed to pay for professional services. At the end of 1999, MICROS Communications engaged the CBSM to provide collection services to recover unpaid fees owed by Eastern Pacific Energy/UtiliSource.
