PHILADELPHIA -- Drexel University Drexel University, at Philadelphia, Pa.; coeducational; founded 1891 by Anthony J. Drexel, opened 1892, chartered 1894 as Drexel Institute of Art, Science, and Industry. It was renamed Drexel Institute of Technology in 1936 and gained university status in 1970.  released credentialing information today for the Democratic presidential candidates debate that it will host on Tuesday, October 30 2007. The debate will be held in the Main Building Auditorium (32nd and Chestnut Streets) from 9 to 11 p.m. This is the first presidential candidates debate held in Pennsylvania this cycle and the fourth Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate "sanctioned" by the Democratic National Committee.

. It will air live Wednesday evening from 9 to 11 p.m. on MSNBC. It also will be streamed live over the web on POLITICS.MSNBC.com and NBC News 2 Go. It will be re-broadcast on Telemundo in Spanish. Other debate partners include Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell and the Democratic National Committee.

Drexel University President Dr. Constantine Papadakis Constantine Papadakis (nickname Taki) has been the President of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 1995. During his tenure, Papadakis has leveraged the historic strengths of the University (co-operative education, a focus on technology and the rich  said today that planning for the debate is well underway and that the campus and community support for the effort at Drexel has been overwhelming.

DETAILS ABOUT COVERING THE OCTOBER 30 DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES DEBATE AT DREXEL UNIVERSITY

CREDENTIALING DETAILS:

Working members of the media wishing to cover the Debate at Drexel on October 30 must be credentialed. Credentialing is available online through Drexel's Office of University Relations. Credentials CREDENTIALS, international law. The instruments which authorize and establish a public minister in his character with the state or prince to whom they are addressed. If the state or prince receive the minister, he can be received only in the quality attributed to him in his credentials.  may be obtained by applying online at www.drexel.edu/debate.

The information must be submitted for each individual for whom you are requesting credentials. News media organizations with multiple reporters must fill out one form for each reporter or staff person. All news media attending the Drexel University presidential candidates debate must also present national or state accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.

Credential approvals will be sent out on Monday, October 22. Once credentials have been granted debate organizers will hold a media logistics call at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23 and a debate site survey for broadcast media on Friday, October 26, time to be determined. Credentials will be available for pick-up on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, October 30 beginning at 7 a.m. at the Debate at Drexel Press Office in James Creese Student Center (32nd and Chestnut Streets).

CREDENTIALING PROCESS:

Media credentials will be required to gain access to the Media Filing Center and the Spin Alley Spin alley is a place where representatives from opposing parties of the USA conglomerate go to interact with the press, usually after a major televised event. Members of most major press organizations meet with the spin doctors who provide sound bytes and opinion for reporters. , which will be located in the James Creese Student Center, across the street from the Main Building (32nd and Chestnut Streets), where the debate will be held.  positions will be located both outside the Spin Alley facing the Main Building and inside the Creese Center. Please note that media credentials do not provide access to the Main Building Auditorium, the site of the debate. The debate will be broadcast on large monitors in the Media Filing Center for working journalists to watch.

INTERNET WIRED AND WIFI WIRELESS SERVICE:

Drexel will provide free wireless Internet service to journalists in the press filing center and Spin Alley. Wired Ethernet orders must be ordered by filling out the form below.

CELL PHONE COVERAGE:

There is good cell phone coverage throughout the University's campus.

PHONE ORDERS:

Hard-line phone orders must be requested through the appropriate forms online at www.drexel.edu/debate when submitting credential information. There will be a charge for phone lines, and there will be an additional charge for an actual phone handset, if that is requested.

The deadline for phone and Ethernet orders is Friday, October 19 at 6 p.m. EST.
