Credence Continues Aggressive Recruiting Program with Unveiling of Home Page on the Internet.

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 1996--Credence Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: CMOS) today unveiled its corporate home page on the Internet's World Wide Web (WWW).

The home page is linked to CareerMosaic, a popular employment web site that has been receiving an average of 60,000 visits a day. Located at the web address http://careermosaic.com/cm/credence, Credence's home page provides prospective employees with in-depth information on the Company, its products and technologies, and employment opportunities and benefits. The site features an electronic form that allows candidates to submit a digital resume.

The high-tech vehicle is the latest addition to the Company's recruiting efforts; these efforts have driven a 56% increase in headcount over the last 12 months in response to the Company's dramatic increase in revenues over the same time period. The Company recently reported record results for its first quarter ended January 31, 1996, with net sales of $60.9 million, a 71% increase over the $35.6 million in sales for the comparable quarter of the previous year.

Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Richard Cannon, said the Company's decision to establish a web site "is particularly appropriate as a recruiting tool since Credence's primary recruiting focus is the engineering community; a group of individuals that readily turns to the web as a major source of information." The Company is presently recruiting for positions at its corporate headquarters in Fremont, California, its memory products group in Santa Clara, California, and its Beaverton, Oregon facilities.

Director of Marketing Communications, Henry S. Kim, stated, "This home page is also the starting point of a comprehensive web site scheduled to go live this spring." Kim continued, saying, "We plan to expand the present web site to include the Company's financial results, training and applications information for our customers, and a unique on-line product selector that describes an appropriate Credence test system configuration when given a user's test requirement."

CareerMosaic is a product of Bernard Hodes Advertising, the world's premiere human resources communications firm. Launched in July 1994, CareerMosaic houses thousands of jobs in its J.O.B.S. database, and provides an index of the jobs contained in the usenet.jobs newsgroups. Bernard Hodes Advertising has over 30 offices in North America as well as offices in Asia and Europe. Further information on Bernard Hodes can be found on the World Wide Web at http://www.hodes.com/lo_res/locations.html.
