Creative Vistas, Inc. Appoints Robert R. Newell to Lead Broadband Deployment Services in U.S.

Executive With Extensive Background in Operations and Business Development Will Play Key Role In Company's US Expansion Strategy

WHITBY, Ontario -- Creative Vistas, Inc., (OTCBB:CVAS), a leading provider of advanced video security and surveillance solutions as well as broadband-related services, announced today that its subsidiary Cancable Inc. has named Robert R. Newell to lead business development and operations for broadband deployment and provisioning services in the U.S.

Mr. Newell, 59, will serve in the new position of Senior Vice President with responsibility for business development and operations for the U.S. broadband deployment market. He comes to Cancable, the broadband provisioning services division of CVAS, with nearly three decades of experience in operations, sales, service, marketing and new business development, primarily in deployment of broadband and IT services and products to the residential and commercial markets. He has particular expertise in start-up, turnaround and integration of acquired companies.

His appointment is part of CVAS' strategic initiative to expand its broadband deployment service - currently provided to Rogers Cable (www.rogers.com) and Cogeco Cable (www.cogeco.com) in Canada - in U.S. markets, as well as to offer its DependableHome offering of networked surveillance and related services to American consumers. The Company intends to expand into the U.S. market over the next five years by addressing the market needs of major cable, telecom, and/or satellite customers.

Most recently, Mr. Newell was chief operating officer and chief business development officer of 180 Connect Inc., a national cable and satellite fulfillment service, based in Denver, CO., that he co-founded in 2000 and helped build into a company with $300 million in annual revenues. Customers of 180 Connect included Comcast, Cox, Time Warner, Cablevision, Hughes Network Services and DirecTV. His earlier experience includes executive posts and operational responsibilities in firms producing electronic and printed television program guides and providing fulfillment services to cable systems.
