), a leading provider of advanced video security and surveillance solutions as well as broadband-related services, announced today that its subsidiary Cancable Inc. has named Robert R. Newell to lead business development and operations for broadband deployment and provisioning services in the U.S.

Mr. Newell, 59, will serve in the new position of Senior Vice President with responsibility for business development and operations for the U.S. broadband deployment market. He comes to Cancable, the broadband provisioning services division of CVAS, with nearly three decades of experience in operations, sales, service, marketing and new business development, primarily in deployment of broadband and IT services and products to the residential and commercial markets. He has particular expertise in start-up, turnaround and integration of acquired companies.

His appointment is part of CVAS' strategic initiative to expand its broadband deployment service - currently provided to Rogers Cable Rogers Cable Inc., a subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc., is Canada's largest cable television service provider with about 2.25 million television customers, and over 930,000 Internet subscribers, in Southern Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador.  (www.rogers.com) and Cogeco Cable (www.cogeco.com) in Canada - in U.S. markets, as well as to offer its DependableHome offering of networked surveillance and related services to American consumers.
