TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 1997--

Promotion Supports Creative's Focus to Increase PC/Wintel Sales

Creative Computers, Inc. ("Creative") (Nasdaq: MALL) today announced that David R. Burcham has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations and Sales to further assist with the Company's strategic focus to increase PC/Wintel sales. Mr. Burcham's responsibilities have been expanded to include overseeing all of Creative's sales efforts in addition to the Company's operations, a duty which he held in his former position as Senior Vice President, Operations and Sales.

"Since David joined our Company a little over one year ago, he has used his expertise to further improve customer service and streamline operations," stated Frank Khulusi, Creative's President and Chief Executive Officer. "David played a major role in achieving the efficiencies and improving customer service resulting from the relocation RELOCATION, Scotch law, contracts. To let again to renew a lease, is called a relocation.

David joins Dan DeVries, Creative's Executive Vice President of Marketing, in the role of Executive Vice President. Dan has been instrumental in expanding Creative's sales in the PC/Wintel market through improved catalog catalog, descriptive list, on cards or in a book, of the contents of a library. David has been chartered with adding to this effort while at the same time improving productivity of our sales representatives."

Creative entered the PC/Wintel direct mail market with its PC Mall catalog in May 1995. Of the Company's total 1996 sales of $445 million, over $100 million were PC/Wintel-related, of which $36.5 million were reported in the fourth quarter. This establishes Creative as one of the leading direct marketers in the PC/Wintel market.

"With this promotion, David is David I, king of Scotland

"To continue to drive PC/Wintel sales going forward, we plan this year to increase our PC/Wintel catalog circulation by nearly 50 percent. This will bring the total number of catalogs we intend to ship, including Mac-related, to over 60 million. Simultaneously, we are very focused on continuing to expand our outbound out·bound
