) today announced the opening of the CAA/Intel Media Lab, a new multimedia facility intended to further the creation of cutting-edge digital entertainment for home personal computer users.

The CAA/Intel Media Lab is a joint project of CAA, one of Hollywood's leading literary and talent agencies, and Intel, the world's largest computer chip maker. It is designed to be a showcase for the Hollywood creative community demonstrating the major new entertainment possibilities based on today's high-performance multimedia PC.

"This is all about technology and talent," said Andrew S. Grove, president and chief executive officer of Intel. "The ubiquitous connected PC is changing the nature of media. The creative talent who are the first to embrace this change will lead it."

Located at CAA's Beverly Hills headquarters, the CAA/Intel Media Lab is equipped with a unique combination of state-of-the-art technologies to create, distribute, and present an unmatched digital entertainment experience.

The lab includes Pentium and Pentium Pro The sixth generation of the Intel x86 family of CPU chips. The term may refer to the chip or to a PC that uses it. Introduced in 1995 as the successor to the Pentium, models from 150 MHz to 200 MHz were released.  processor-based PCs for authoring and displaying entertainment programs, advanced multimedia software tools and consumer applications, the latest in consumer audio and video technologies, and a wide variety of telecommunications links representing today's and tomorrow's home communications capabilities.
