Creation of Birdsedge nature trail.

Children at Birdsedge Birdsedge is a small village on the edge of Yorkshire's Pennine hills, standing just below one thousand feet above sea level. It is linked with the neighbouring hamlet of High Flatts, a former Quaker settlement (and still home to a Friends' Meeting House).  First School are getting closer to nature.

A nature trail is being created in the school's new environmental garden, which has been planted with hedges, trees and a pond to encourage wildlife.

Every pupil is involved in researching plants, trees and animals, to make identification plaques plaques,

2. deposits of cholesterol in artery walls that characterize arteriosclerosis.
which will be put on the trail.

Pupils will then be able to walk the trail and use the plaques to identify what they see.

The project is being sponsored by Action Earth, which is run by the Community Service Volunteers charity and paid for by the Environment Agency.
