Everything starts with words. God created the heavens and the earth with His words. Words are mighty and words have power. When I learned the power of words, it changed my life. Your words are so powerful and have EVERYTHING to do with creating your future. Everything you have done up to this point in your life is a sum total of the words you have spoken, as you will come to see.

Do you know that Words are things? You give life to things with your words. Do you know that you can have what you say when you believe what you are saying? Let me show you what God?s Word says?

Proverbs 18:21 ?Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.? (NKJV)

Mark 11:23 ?I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ?Go, throw yourself into the sea,? and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.? (NKJV)

So that means that whatever you say, if you believe it when you say it, you will have it, good or bad. This is why we must be so careful with our words. You often hear people joke around and say things they don?t mean (things they would not really want to see happen). They should not do that. Please make sure you don?t do that. God?s Word says you will have what you say, not what you mean to say!

There are many references in God?s Word about how we shape our own destiny by the words or ?THINGS? we say. So remember, words are ?things.? Words give life to things. God gave life to this earth when He said ?Let there be light.? Then there was light. See Genesis 1:3. God said it, and then He saw it. We are created in God?s image, and so when we say things, (and we believe what we say), we will also see those things happen.

Words can build up, and words can tear down. We can bless or curse someone, even our own children, with our words. If you ever speak negative towards someone, you are releasing a curse to that person. When you speak well of someone, you release blessing. The same goes when people speak of you. If you hear someone speak badly of you, you need to reject what they said. Don?t ever agree with them. If you agree with them, you bring a curse upon yourself with your own words. You will have what you say. Look what Jesus said:

Matthew 12:37, ?For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.? (NKJV)

It?s so important that we make sure we have good character in this life. That is what people remember. Charm is temporary, but character shapes a person?s life and is real. Good or bad, character is what people remember. So build good character for yourself by speaking well of people at all times. If you know that someone doesn?t have a good character, don?t say anything. Just keep quiet. Do not let cursing or negative words come out of your mouth towards someone else.

Even if someone has done you wrong and you feel like an?nouncing it, don?t. The wise thing to do would be to cover the evil that person has done by not saying anything about it. Ask God to show that person the error of their ways.

Romans 12:19 ?Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.? (KJV)

You keep your mouth in line with God?s Word at all times, and let Him take care of the wrong that?s been done to you. If you trust Him to do this for you, He will. He promised it.

Keep your words saying what God says. How do you know what God says? You have to pick up the Bible and read it to know what He says. You have to make it a priority to spend time in His Word. You need to listen to good preaching and learn to speak the way God speaks. For example: Say, ?I am a child of God Almighty, and I am BLESSED and highly favored of the Lord!? You are now releasing blessing to flow into your life easily. Say it and you will see it!

Learning the Word of God is the BEST investment you will ever make in your entire life. It will help you at all times. Make sure you speak the Word of God around your children every day. Let them see how you speak and how you act, and they will follow suit one day! I don?t mean that you want to beat them over the head with God?s Word, but you want to pour wisdom into them by your very actions, and yes, by your gentle and kind words, full of godly wisdom.
