Cray Inc. Announces Cray X1 Supercomputer Order from India's Tata Institute of Fundamental Research; Order Secured By Hinditron, Cray's Representative in India.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2004

Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NasdaqNM:CRAY) today announced that it has received an order for a Cray X1(TM) supercomputer system from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is the premier Indian institute for higher education that is primarily dedicated to carrying out research in natural sciences, mathematics and computer science. It is located at Navy Nagar Colaba, Mumbai.  (TIFR TIFR Tata Institute of Fundamental Research ), Mumbai (Bombay), India. The order came through Hinditron, Cray's representative in India. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Cray X1 system is scheduled to be installed in the current quarter. It will support research in physics, mathematics and other disciplines, Cray officials said.
