The yearly competition, sponsored by the Long Island Ad Club, recognizes excellence in regional advertising. There were a total of 1,239 entries in this year's competition, and 84 awards were presented at the 29th annual event.

Since the site went live, less than a year ago, it has proven to be a very effective and well received marketing tool," said Sherin. The GCG Web site, winner in the "Internet: Independent" category, was judged by industry professionals. Content, structure/navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity, and overall creative excellence were among the criteria used in selecting the winning entry.
