Laura Bailey (born August 6, 1972, in London, England) is a British supermodel and occasional actress. survived a horrific car accident at the age of 16 that left her in a coma and with severe head injuries. Laura, who is now 20, had originally intended studying medicine and had hopes of becoming a doctor, achieving high grades at GCSE GCSE 1. At first Laura, of Canterbury Way, Stockingford, found the classes a drag, and became frustrated with some of her early experiences. Gradually, to her delight, she discovered a hidden talent for art and her interest in the subject spiralled to enable her to pass the art qualification. She then decided to stay on at the college to study for a BTEC BTEC Business and Technology Education Council (UK) BTEC Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (Raleigh, NC) BTEC Business Transformation Executive Committee National Diploma in Fine Art. Laura said: "At the start of the course I was average, but I just seemed to get better and better. Art is such a good way of expressing feelings, whether you are angry or upset." Her final piece of work for the course is an expression of the way her life changed after the car accident and the feelings she had to confront when she discovered her life could never be the same again. Laura's work can be seen at the Creativity 2004 Festival at the Nuneaton site. She said: "My work is mostly related to myself and my personal development as I reach adulthood. "It also addresses changes in my life after a major car accident and shows the feelings and problems I've had since the accident in June 2000. "My art work allows me to break out and express some of my feelings. It has been a reflective process, allowing me to develop myself through art and through my social interests."
