Crash kills Midlands mother.A WOMAN from the West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull, was killed and her family injured in a crash in Dorset, police said today. The woman's 13-year-old son suffered whiplash whiplash n. a common neck and/or back injury suffered in automobile accidents (particularly from being hit from the rear) in which the head and/or upper back is snapped back and forth suddenly and violently by the impact. and her 61-year-old mother and 65-year-old father were also hurt when a Renault Megane collided head-on with a Citroen Zara near Blandford Forum
The woman, from Wednesbury, died at Dorset County Hospital Dorset County Hospital is an NHS district general hospital in the town of Dorchester, Dorset, England and is operated by West Dorset General Hospitals NHS Trust. The hospital is the hub of the district's inpatient facilities but community hospitals, owned by the North and South , in Dorchester, just before 6pm. Members of her family were taken to the same hospital for treatment to their injuries along with the 65-year-old man from Wareham, Dorset, who was driving the Renault. The road was closed until 8pm for crime scene and accident investigators to examine, Dorset Police said. |
