Crash bride Nia walks down aisle at last; Wedding will raise hospital cash.

A BRIDE-TO-BE,critically injured in a horror car crash over two years ago, will finally walk down the aisle tomorrow.

Nia Wynn-Jones was kept in a drug-induced coma for three weeks to help her cope with the pain.

And there were fears the 26-year-old, who also suffered a broken neck,might never walk again.

Now Nia and her fiance Alan Davies, 28,plan to repay the hospital which saved her life.

They plan to donate the fee paid by a glossy national magazine which is covering their big day.

Nia has overcome many obstacles in order to fulfil her ambition of walking down the aisle on the arm of her father, retired teacher Pedr.

The ceremony being held at Bodidris Hall,on Llandegla Moors, will be covered by celebrity magazine Closer.

The fee will be donated to the high dependency unit at Walton Centre for Neurology,in Liverpool, where Nia was a patient for 11 weeks after the crash in April 2002.

Nia and Alan were on their way to buy furniture for the bungalow they were buying in Goodwood Grove,Leeswood village,near Mold, just a few hundred yards from Nia's parents, Pedr and Ann.

As the couple's Corsa turned right at Stadium Way, in Chester, a speeding high-powered Toyota Supra ploughed into their car flipping it over.

Alan,a salesman,and Nia,both suffered horrendous injuries.

There were claims the Chester driver was racing another high-speed car at the time of the smash.

He was jailed for 15 months for dangerous driving -a sentence which angered Nia who claimed: ``He got 15 months and I got life.''

The couple have had to postpone their wedding three times since the collision which almost claimed their lives.

Nia suffered brain and neck injuries and literally had to learn to walk again.

Walking down the aisle on her father's arm is a dream come true.

``It will be a very proud moment for me,'' saidPedr.

``She has made a wonderful recovery considering we feared she would not be able to get out of bed at one stage.''

More than 50 guests have been invited to the ceremony at Bodidris Hall which will be followed by an evening reception for 200 at Mold's Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

Nia said the excitement is mounting as tomorrow approaches. ``Alan and I decided to donate the fee Closer magazine are paying us to the hospital as a thank you for the care and attention they gave me during my stay.''
