 Armada An earlier brand name for laptop computers from Compaq. The line was noted for its quality and innovative features.  SUV (and its as-yet unnamed Infiniti brother], Quest minivan, and the overflow production of Altima sedans. The Canton plant will employ 5,300 at full production (scheduled for about one year after all the models have been launched), and produce 400,000 units. At least until production is increased through productivity improvements nearer the 500,000-unit level currently in place at Nissan's Smyrna, Tennessee Smyrna is a town in Rutherford County, Tennessee, United States. Smyrna's population was 26,614 people at the 2000 census. A special census conducted by the town in 2005 showed a growth in population to over 31,000. , assembly plant, that is. The stamping plant has two IHI IHI Institute for Healthcare Improvement (Boston, MA, USA)

 460x230 6,000-ton presses--the largest servo-driven presses in the world, Nissan says--that can do left- and right-side I stampings simultaneously. There's also an 600-ton blanking press and 415 robots in the main body assembly area. Many of the assemblies will be built and delivered in-sequence to the assembly line by suppliers located nearby.
