Cranes Software and SERC to Co-Develop Products for the Scientific and Engineering Community in India.

BANGALORE, India -- To Jointly Develop a Graphical Pre-Post Processor for SERC's FINEART a State-of-the-Art Finite Element Code for Linear Static, Dynamic and Non-Linear Transient Dynamics

Cranes Software International Ltd., a leading provider of specialized scientific software products & services, today announced a strategic alliance between its wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock.

Notes:
In other words, the parent company owns the company outright and there are no minority owners.

) and Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC SERC - Science and Engineering Research Council ), a premier national laboratory under Center for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR CSIR Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (Ghana)
CSIR Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (India)
CSIR Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research
), Govt. of India to develop products for the scientific and engineering community of India.

As part of the initial phase in the relationship, the two partners will jointly develop a graphical pre-post processor for SERC's FINEART (FINite element Engineering analysis using Adaptive Refinement Techniques), a state-of-the-art finite element code for linear static, dynamic and non-linear transient dynamics. For this purpose, NISA Nisa, rivers: see Neisse, rivers of Poland.  DISPLAY III, the industry's leading graphical pre-post processor, will be integrated with FINEART to produce a powerful and easy to use comprehensive finite element software package. To suit the Indian scientific, engineering, research and academic community, the software will exclusively use latest software architectures to attain maximum performance on high-end UNIX UNIX

 workstations and Linux based PC's.

In addition to SERC-Chennai, Cranes will work with C-MMACS-Bangalore, RRL-Bhopal, RRL-Thiruvananthapuram and NML-Jamshedpur to develop various specialized modules of FINEART.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. N. Lakshmanan, Director, SERC said, "This partnership is extremely significant and launches the long term MOU (Minutes Of Usage) A metric used to compute billing and/or statistics for telephone calls or other network use.  of co-developing products in areas of Structural Engineering and Information and Communication Technology. The integration of FINEART with NISA Display III is a winning combination and will benefit the users and will help us serve the community better."

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Asif Khader, Managing Director, Cranes Software International Ltd. said, "Cranes Software has a strong track record of spearheading successful Corporate-Public Sector associations. We are proud to be associated with a premier national laboratory like SERC and will work together to develop newer applications and possibilities by combining both our skill sets. We are confident that the SERC-Cranes alliance will result in developing indigenous products which are world class with excellent performance to price ratios compared to the world's leading CAE (1) (Computer-Aided Engineering) Software that analyzes designs which have been created in the computer or that have been created elsewhere and entered into the computer.  packages."

Dr. Gangan Prathap, Scientist-in-Charge, C-MMACS C-MMACS Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation (Bangalore, India)  and Chairman, CSIR Task Force on Mathematical Modeling and Computer Simulation stated that, "SERC has developed several software packages based on finite element methods and released the same to the industry both in the public and private sectors. FINEART, which is an R&D effort of SERC and now with further enhanced capabilities through the collaborative and networked efforts of various CSIR labs, is one of the most cutting edge and powerful FEA (Finite Element Analysis) A mathematical technique for analyzing stress, which breaks down a physical structure into substructures called "finite elements." The finite elements and their interrelationships are converted into equation form and solved mathematically.  packages."
