Cramer Appoints Enterprise Software Marketeer to Lead Global Marketing; Former Oracle, Vitria VP To Build on 'Vendor of Choice' Position.

LONDON & WASHINGTON -- Cramer today named seasoned marketing executive John Philpin as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

Philpin brings over 25 years of business application software experience to Cramer, including senior roles in marketing, sales and business development in both the U.S. and Europe.

Philpin's appointment comes as Cramer continues its run of top tier service provider contract wins and ramps up its investment in the U.S., the world's largest market for back office automation suites. Concurrently, Cramer named former Amdocs sales VP Kelly Connery to spearhead its Americas sales effort, and announced expanded sales, operations and customer support in the U.S. (see separate story).

Philpin's career mirrors the growth of the IT industry as the sector has evolved to become the largest and most pervasive force in the global economy. From Silicon Valley to London and New York, he has shaped the IT strategy of a Fortune 500 bank, launched a successful software start-up, and transitioned an inward-facing technology company to a market-facing business application provider.

Most recently he was Vice President of Marketing and Executive Officer at Vitria, a leading provider of business process integration solutions for the telecom industry. Prior to Vitria, Philpin helped launch Flypaper, an innovative enterprise collaboration software company, where he was responsible for a full range of Sales, Marketing and Business Development activities.

At Citicorp in New York, Philpin led a two-year initiative transforming the bank's investment business to incorporate an integrated software and Internet strategy. In a 10-year career at Oracle, both in London and Redwood City, California, Philpin held key roles in marketing, business development and operations, spanning the company's trajectory from niche player to industry giant.
