FORMER Celtic and Scotland full-back Stephen Crainey is poised to make his comeback after eight months out injured.

The Blackpool defender hasn't kicked a ball since April following operations on a knee and his groin.

But he is back training and may return soon for the Championship side.

Caretaker boss Tony Parkes said: "Stephen joined in with the first team before Christmas and it was the first time since April he had been involved in a session with the lads.

"He came through it fine so we'll keep building up his fitness. Hopefully he will be in and around the first team soon."
