Crain Communications purchases "Workforce" magazine.


Crain Communications (Detroit, MI) has acquired Workforce magazine from ACC See adaptive cruise control.  Communications (Costa Mesa Costa Mesa (kŏs`tə mā`sə), city (1990 pop. 96,357), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific south of Santa Ana; inc. 1953. It is a transportation, residential, and light industrial center. , CA). No terms of the deal were given.

The acquired title was launched in 1922 as The Journal of Personnel Research and was later titled Personnel Journal. It is published monthly with a controlled circulation of 47,500 "leaders in human resource management" and has 275,000 registered online subscribers. The magazine covers all phases of human relations human relations nplrelaciones fpl humanas  in business and industry, including selection, training, compensation, communications and union-management relations. Other brand extensions include "Workforce Week," a weekly e-mail newsletter, "Dear Workforce," a twice-monthly e-mail newsletter, and the Optimas Awards program.

 chairman Keith Crain said the acquired magazine "is a good fit for us particularly when considering...the potential readership dually reached in the pensions, investment and employee benefits area of the insurance markets" with Crain's Pensions & Investments and Business Insurance.

Crain produces over 30 consumer, business and trade publications, including Ad Age and Automotive News, as well as business weeklies in Chicago, Cleveland, New York Cleveland is a village in Oswego County, New York, United States. The population was 758 at the 2000 census.
