Craig Southeren Elected to Vovida Networks Sponsored Seat on the International Softswitch Consortium.SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1999-- The Linux development community elected Craig Southeren, Equivalence Pty Ltd, as their representative to participate on the International Softswitch Consortium (ISC (1) (Internet Systems Consortium, Redwood City, CA www.isc.org) An organization founded by Paul Vixie, Carl Malamud and Rick Adams in 1994 and later sponsored by UUNET and other Internet companies. ). Vovida Networks sponsored the open election and has contributed the yearly ISC membership fee, travel and lodging for a member of the Linux development community to participate on the ISC. "I am excited at the prospect of working closely with organizations such as Vovida Networks and the International Softswitch Consortium during the next year on behalf of Linux developers everywhere," said Craig Southeren, after receiving the news of his election. Craig has been involved in both the development and promotion of Linux for some time, having written the original 3Com 3c505 driver for the Linux kernel and having promoted and advocated Linux since the days of the two floppy 0.99.1 releases.
