Craig McCallum appointed senior vice president of EnCompass Ventures.


KIRKLAND, Wash.--(BUSINESS EDITORS)--May 20, 1997--

CompuServe veteran appointed senior vice president

of high-tech venture capital company

EnCompass Ventures, a Kirkland based venture capital firm dedicated to assisting emerging computer software and information technology companies in the Pacific Northwest, recently appointed Craig McCallum as its senior vice president and managing director.

McCallum will lead all aspects of EnCompass Ventures' operational and investment activities.

McCallum has over fifteen years of experience in senior management with high technology companies including CompuServe, Starwave and Traveling Software Inc. Most recently, McCallum was vice president and general manager of CompuServe's Internet Internet

Publicly accessible computer network connecting many smaller networks from around the world. It grew out of a U.S. Defense Department program called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), established in 1969 with connections between computers at the
 Division. Prior to joining CompuServe, McCallum served as vice president of finance, operations and business development for SPRY Inc. where he spearheaded negotiations to sell the company to CompuServe for over $100 million, the largest Internet related transaction at the time. McCallum also brings strong international, operational and financial management skills to EnCompass.
