Wyndham El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door(R) Spa has appointed Craig Martin as general manager. In his new position, Martin will oversee all day-to-day operations the legendary, award-winning resort and spa, including Las Casitas Village, Puerto Rico's only AAA Five-Diamond rated resort.

Martin's career in the hospitality industry spans nearly 25 years. No stranger to the Caribbean, Martin has honed his craft in management positions at various resorts in the islands of The Bahamas and Jamaica for the past ten years. Most recently, as general manager of Wyndham Rose Hall Resort & Country Club, Martin played a key role in the planning of a $7 million water park and spearheaded a $4 million renovation of the resort's golf course. Martin brings to his new post an extensive knowledge of the Caribbean market, as well as a thorough understanding of the principles and standards of service excellence that define all Wyndham International properties.

Martin came to Wyndham Rose Hall from Plaza Hotels Resort & Casino in Freeport, where he held the positions of corporate food & beverage director and director of operations. Prior to Plaza Hotels, Martin served as corporate director of food and beverage at Atlantis Hotel & Casino in Paradise Island, where he conceived, planned and executed a new food and beverage program for the resort.

With Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego and Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, Martin began his career at the Grand Hyatt New York. The first fourteen years of Martin's career saw him through ever-increasing management positions in the food & beverage and operations divisions at Hyatt properties throughout the United States, before his move to the Caribbean in 1994.
