Will Lead Communications Programs to Maximize Marketing Synergies

Between Avantis, Foxboro, SimSci-Esscor, and Triconex Brands

Invensys today announced that Craig Conrad has been appointed communications director for the company's Manufacturing and Process Solutions business unit. The unit includes well-known brands such as Avantis, Foxboro, SimSci-Esscor, and Triconex; plus product development, sales and marketing, and customer support activities for these brands. Mr. Conrad will oversee all marketing communications Marketing communications (or marcom) are messages and related media used to communicate with a market. Those who practice advertising, branding, direct marketing, graphic design, marketing, packaging, promotion, publicity, sponsorship, public relations, sales, sales  activities for the business unit.

"Craig will play a key role as we move forward in meeting the challenge of increasing recognition of the relatively new Invensys corporate name, while preserving the equity and good will of our well-established company brands. These include Foxboro, Triconex, and SimSci-Esscor, which are among the most highly respected names in the industrial automation world," said Amy Burns, vice president of marketing at Invensys Manufacturing and Process Solutions business unit.

Conrad brings more than 20 years of technology marketing and communications experience to his new position at Invensys.

Prior to Invensys, Mr. Conrad held a variety of management-level positions at technology companies such as Xevo Corporation, Nexar Technologies, Digital Equipment Corp., Leading Edge Products, NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).
