Cradle Technologies today announces a partnership with Infomedia Network Inc., a leader in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) software and services. The partnership focuses on creating SIP enabled streaming-video-over-Internet applications using the H.264 protocol. Implementation will be based on Cradle's ECE product line and bi-directional H.264 video streaming software codec, and Infomedia Network's SIP protocol and application services software. All system functions will be in software and hosted on the Cradle ECE device, providing Infomedia Network with a highly flexible, Soft-Silicon(TM) platform that can be cost effectively tailored to rapidly produce product derivatives.

Infomedia Network plans to introduce its first product based on the new Soft-Silicon platform later this year. The company's initial focus will be on delivering television quality video suitable for business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications. Features such as bi-directional voice and video conferencing and instant messaging will be made available using a simple peer-to-peer topology that can scale from 30 to 60 frames per second. The product will be offered at a breakthrough price point that is also expected to fuel consumer-to-consumer mass adoption.
