Cradle Technologies Multiprocessor DSP Selected By Digi-flower for IP Network Video Streamer; Complete Reference Design Speeds Time-to-Market.


SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Cradle Technologies and Digi-flower today announced that Digi-Flower's IP network video streamer product is based on the Cradle CT3400 Multiprocessor DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive . The Digi-flower IP streamer is a single-channel video and audio IP network streaming device that implements MPEG-4 real-time video encoding with synchronized audio and a complete IP network stack.

The Digi-flower MPEG-4 IP video streamer is based on the Cradle Bluegill IP video streamer reference design. This design dramatically accelerates OEMs ability to bring a single channel IP streamer solution to market. The design accepts analog NTSC/PAL video and produces an MPEG-4 compressed IP transport stream and delivers 10/100 Ethernet out. The design is based on the 230MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  CT3400 Multiprocessor DSP from Cradle Technologies.

About the Cradle CT3400 Multiprocessor DSP

Cradle's CT3400 is a C-programmable multiprocessor DSP (MDSP) comprising eight 32-bit DSP cores, six 32-bit general purpose processor cores, and a flexible 128-pin programmable I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device.
