NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 11, 2001

Coyote Point Systems, Inc., the price/performance leader in Internet Traffic Internet traffic is the flow of data around the Internet. It includes web traffic, which is the amount of that data that is related to the World Wide Web, along with the traffic from other major uses of the Internet, such as electronic mail and peer-to-peer networks.  Management, today announced a product interoperability and marketing agreement with CacheFlow(R) Inc, the leading provider of content-smart networking solutions, to accelerate content delivery and ensure 24x7 performance for high traffic web sites.

The agreement, through which Coyote Point joins Cacheflow's Adaptive Content Exchange (ACE), certifies the interoperability of Equalizer, Coyote Point's intelligent load balancing The fine tuning of a computer system, network or disk subsystem in order to more evenly distribute the data and/or processing across available resources. For example, in clustering, load balancing might distribute the incoming transactions evenly to all servers, or it might redirect them  appliance, and cIQ(TM) Server Accelerator Series 700 and 7000 products , CacheFlow's content acceleration appliances optimized to scale web sites. Deployed together, Equalizer and cIQ Server Accelerators ensure the highest levels of performance, reliability and scalability for high traffic web sites. The ACE program represents CacheFlow's premier list of industry-leading partners that leverage cIQ technology to provide enhanced switching, content filtering See Web filtering and parental control software. , security, multimedia services, and reporting for CacheFlow cIQ Content Delivery Solutions.

"CacheFlow's acknowledged leadership in content-smart networking makes them an ideal partner for Coyote Point," said Thomas E. Wolf, Coyote Point's Director of Sales and Marketing. "A network deploying Equalizer in front of clustered Server Accelerators is combining the best technologies available to ensure Quality of Service, reliability and scalablity."

"Intelligent load balancing maximizes the benefits of CacheFlow's server acceleration capabilities, said Frank Cabri, Director of Corporate Marketing for CacheFlow. "Coyote Point's Equalizer meshes extremely well with the Server Accelerator, and the combined solution offers an easy and cost-effective way to scale web sites."

The Interoperable Products

Coyote Point's Equalizer intelligently distributes requests among clustered servers using multiple criteria -- server response time, number of requests, measurements taken directly on the server via optional server agents, weighted assigned values, and geographical proximity (available via the Envoy add-on option). Active Content Verification ensures that servers failing to provide correct content for any request will be bypassed. Inclusive reporting features provide real-time graphical display of server and cluster performance. UDP-enabled, Equalizer works with DNS servers, serverless storage devices and WAP gateways.
