Cox Interactive Media Promotes Scott Shirah to Controller.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2000

Cox Interactive Media (CIMedia)(www.cimedia.com) announced today that Scott Shirah has been promoted to controller.

The announcement came from J. Lacey Lewis, vice president and chief financial officer.

In his new position, Shirah will head up CIMedia's accounting initiatives. His responsibilities will include financial accounting; analyzing and implementing global accounting best practices and systems; initiating related policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental ; and managing a team of CIMedia accountants who are responsible for general ledger General Ledger

Shirah has a history of service to Cox. Beginning in 1998, he joined CIMedia's Phoenix, Ariz., Internet studio, serving as business manager for CIMedia city sites AccessArizona.com and AccessLasVegas.com. In that role, his responsibilities encompassed budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and reporting, accounting and human resources. Before that, he was manager of internal audit for Cox Enterprises, Atlanta, Ga., from 1995 to 1998. Prior to joining Cox, Shirah served as senior associate of business assurance services for Coopers & Lybrand, LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , Birmingham, Ala., from 1991 to 1995.
