Cox Interactive Media (CIMedia) and Federated Department Stores, Inc., have teamed up to launch in-house television/Internet programming at the new Lazarus located in Easton Town Center Easton Town Center ("Easton") is a large mixed-use center in Columbus, Ohio, USA. It is designed to look like a classic American main street, with public spaces, fountains, a street grid, and metered storefront parking. , Columbus, Ohio Columbus is the capital and the largest city of the American state of Ohio. Named for explorer Christopher Columbus, the city was founded in 1812 at the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy rivers, and assumed the functions of state capital in 1816. .

The television programming, viewable on 42-inch plasma screens strategically located throughout the store, is designed to help customers understand store services and promotions, and find out what's going on What's Going On is a record by American soul singer Marvin Gaye. Released on May 21, 1971 (see 1971 in music), What's Going On reflected the beginning of a new trend in soul music.  in their community and in the world.

A split-screen format offers a unique display of information featuring local and national news, health, sports, weather, and entertainment, along with marketing content and information designed to enhance customers' in-store experience. A ticker along the bottom of the screen offers constantly updated stocks and sports scores. Advertising sponsorships are available for a wide range of programming.

Developed by CIMStudio, CIMedia's in-house advertising agency in partnership with Federated Department Stores, Inc., the technology harnesses the power of the Internet to deliver engaging, relevant and timely content from CIMedia's Atlanta, Ga., studio to the Lazarus store in Easton Town Center. The service is another example of Cox Interactive Media's commitment to provide unique, creative advertising support for its advertisers.

TECHNOLOGY AT A GLANCE

Who: Cox Interactive Media's in-house advertising agency, CIMStudio, collaborated closely with Federated Department Stores, Inc., to research, develop and launch the television technology for the Easton Town Center Lazarus. CIMStudio specializes in delivering creative and integrated online media solutions for advertisers across local and national markets.

What: Customized TV programming, delivered through a series of Internet-based slides, designed to help Lazarus customers better understand store services, the world and their community. Slides are updated remotely via Internet scheduling technology developed by CIMStudio.

When: Look for in-store television on October 11, 2001, followed by daily/hourly updates as needed as needed prn. See prn order. .

Where: Twenty-one 42-inch plasma screens strategically placed at the Lazarus in Easton Town Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Why: To provide a useful, entertaining service for customers while creating new in-store marketing opportunities for Lazarus.

How: A split screen format features different segments on the left and right areas of the 42-inch screen. To the left, shoppers can quickly scan eight segments:

-- Entertainment Insider ("Top 5" lists for music, movies, plus entertainment

-- Weekend Planner (events and happenings throughout the Columbus, Ohio, area)


To the right, featured most prominently on the split screen, are the following segments:

-- Best Gifts (gift ideas from Lazarus)
