Company executives outline aggressive growth strategy for the future

:COX) today conducted an investor conference, during which Cox executives updated the investment community on the company's success in launching advanced communications services and outlined plans for future broadband service See broadband and broadband service provider.  delivery.

, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, announced that Cox expects to achieve new-service subscriptions of 1.5 to 1.6 million by year-end 2000, representing a 20% increase over projections outlined earlier this year.

, Bowick said, Cox already has begun the initial deployment of video-on-demand service in employee homes in San Diego utilizing the Scientific-Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital set-top box The cable TV box that sits on "top" of the TV "set," although it is often located several feet away in an equipment rack.
